Chinese tourists will get TEN YEAR, multiple entry visas to Australia

Ten-year, multiple entry visas for Chinese tourists are set to be trialled soon.

The nearing of the trial comes as Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced 2017 would be a 'year of tourism' between China and Australia.

Trialling the visas was a step towards increasing the competitiveness of the country's visa system, SBS quoted the prime minister as saying.

By 2020, that number is predicted to increase to  $13bn.

The 2017 year of tourism was agreed upon by Mr Turnbull and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

It was estimated that by 2020, 200 million Chinese tourists would travel to destinations around the world like Australia each year.
